Don't drop your guard

This morning I had to take little Caleb our dog to the vet for a broken leg from a bite from the next-door neighbors dog. Today I am still having after effects from whatever I had last week. And several other things have come against us and I didn't know why.

Have you been going through life with everything going like the Word says it would? And then boom, everything falls apart. I know I have and it has happened more than once. I have heard many excuses of why this happens, but the real excuse is you.

You got to remember that the Lord and His Word don’t change. He and the Word can't change. So that only leaves one element to change. You! And I promise you it was you that change not Him.

That is what happened to me. I dropped my guard. I lower my defenses on life and allowed the enemy to attack. The Word doesn't do for you one moment and then not the next. But you do. You are the only one that has a choice in the matter. Yes, the Lord allows things to happen in order to strengthen you, but it is by your choice that you fall into that condition.

Each time I get into these situations, I look back and realize what I haven't done and what I should be doing. Renee and I read a prayer every morning for protection over our lives and our parents, the children He is giving us and various other things. If you read something long enough it can and will become bland and boring. That is when it loses its life. The Word of God can be just like that. Have you gotten to a point where the Word is bland or dry reading. I have. Well let us get it in our minds to bring life back to the Word. It is your choice. There is life in the Word, and it is up to us whether we allow that life to flow through us, or to let it be old dry reading.

There is one thing a friend of mine used to say that would always encourage me when I got like this. And he said, "This whole thing with God is by faith". Whooooooooooh, that was a relief. The thing about faith that is so neat is, whatever your mind can imagine it can happen through faith. If you are having trouble with something, then believe it will be fixed and through faith it will. If it hasn't yet, it will. Don't let your guard down. Keep on believing and it will come.

That is the same thing with the prayers that we pray. We have to apply the faith to it and the patients to see it through. So pray your prayers everyday. Believe that it is happening. Have FAITH! Pray the protection over you and you will have it. Keep up the faith and it will not let you down.

BE Blessed!
